Anghel's Profile Image

Welcome to Anghel's Gallery

Being a refugee or asylum seeker, we're only defined, identified, and criticized by a size of A4 paper. But like everyone else in the world, aside from coming from different backgrounds, we all have different stories, experiences, struggles, and dreams that we want to achieve. Now the difference is, while some people get the freedom and resources to chase their dreams, and some have the opportunity to do so at their fingertips, there is us who are being restricted or limited as a consequence for wanting safety, wanting a better life, and as for as young ASR a consequence to a decision made by our parents who only want to protect us. Just like my photos there's so much more of me beyond my identity as a part of the ASR community. I am a daughter. I am the youngest amongst my siblings. I am an aviation student. I am a dreamer, who's dream is to literally soar higher and become a pilot, to repay my family especially my mother with comfort, happiness and peace, to be secure in life so I can give the family I will build a better future, to explore the world and to be able to give back and help those in need. Labels like 'refugee' don't define me, it's just one of my layers. What are your layers?
